VOLUNTEER
Each year, it takes a village of volunteers to pull off one of CDA's most exciting events, the Diamonds & Bow Tie Gala.
Join us on this rewarding adventure and serve alongside fellow Lions as we prepare for the event months ahead of time, set up on the day of, or even help the week following the gala.
OUR MOST IMMEDIATE NEED IS HELP WITH AUCTION ITEM PROCUREMENT.
We are still in need of $20-$25 gift cards for the Gift Card Pull!
Donating a live or silent auction item is a great way for local businesses to support CDA's critical mission, be a part of the larger community, and gain vital exposure to the friends and families of our 1,600 private school students - typically their prime target audience.
The DBT Gala happens on the first Saturday of December, so the Silent Auction is a great place to pick up some fabulous Christmas presents!
If every CDA family asked a couple of businesses, especially those they already patron (favorite restaurant, music lessons, movie theater, etc.), we would be able to offer an amazing auction, both for those in attendance and for bidders at home.

2. EMAIL OR DROP OFF PACKET AT BUSINESS
If you need printed copies of packets, please email development@coramdeoacademy.org, and we will mail copies to you or drop copies off at your campus.
When delivering the packets to businesses, try to connect with the decision-maker, such as the owner, manager or community relations contact. A quick phone call or look on the business website should help you find this information.
Bringing your children with you is especially effective, and also teaches them great skills in community relations and public speaking.
3. FOLLOW UP WITH BUSINESS
Following up with businesses is the best way to actually acquire a donated auction item. Almost every business will donate with a follow-up call or visit.
Encourage businesses to donate items that represent their products or services in the best possible light.

Gift cards of any amount, gift certificates for services, or in-kind gifts are welcome!

We need A LOT of $20-$25 gift cards for the Gift Card Pull.

Donations valued less than $100 will be paired with other items in a package.

Items at $100 or more will typically be offered alone in the silent auction (a great way to increase business exposure).

Larger items ($1,000+) may be offered on our exciting Live Auction!
4. ARRANGE FOR PICK UP OR DELIVERY OF DONATED ITEM
Let us know if you need us to pick up any item. Someone on the Development Team or DBT volunteer list will be happy to help. Digital certificates can be emailed to development@coramdeoacademy.org.
If you have an item in hand, you can drop it off to any of the three CDA campuses or to the District Office at 417 Oakbend Dr., Suite #250, Lewisville, TX 75067.
The District Office is also the best place to tell businesses to mail in any items, IF NEEDED. Most businesses will not be able to mail donated items (or simply won't get around to it). We want to accommodate their needs in light of their generosity, so always offer to have it picked up.
